The Farm Fed Family

Want to have more control over what you feed your family by cooking from scratch or growing your own food? As you might have found out, that can quickly become an overwhelming task. It doesn’t have to be though! I’ve learned a lot through the years by just moving forward with baby steps, and you can too. I believe everyone is capable of preparing wholesome food and becoming a little more self-sufficient, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. Let’s dive in together and make having a healthy, natural, homegrown kitchen a little easier.

Hi, I’m Jocelyn and welcome to our farm family table. I’m passionate about teaching others how to prepare simple, nutritious food from scratch with homegrown ingredients. Here you’ll learn about growing your own food, preserving your harvest, and how to cook truly from scratch.

I’m a farm wife and mom of two girls. Our farm is a fifth generation homestead in northern North Dakota. I grew up on a farm as well and enjoyed summers with fresh produce from our garden. Since I was in high school, I’ve always aspired to be a “homesteader” in the sense of living a more self-sufficient lifestyle and growing, preserving, and preparing real food for my family.

Where this all began

In 2018, I graduated with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. I spent three years teaching high school students the basics of cooking and managing a home. After my first daughter was born, I came home to be a full-time mommy, and have loved being home with my girls ever since. I still have the desire and passion to help others learn self-reliance skills like growing, preserving, and preparing real food, which is why The Farm Fed Family was born.
